Configure Ingress
Set up an Ingress to route external HTTP/HTTPS traffic to internal cluster Services.
Prerequisites
- An Ingress Controller (e.g., Nginx) must be deployed in the cluster.
- The target Service must exist.
Step 1. Open the Create Ingress form
Select Service Discovery → Ingresses from the left sidebar. Click the Create ingress button in the top right.
Step 2. Enter basic settings
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Ingress name | my-app-ingress |
| Namespace | Target namespace | default |
| Ingress Class | Ingress Controller class to use | nginx |
TIP
The Ingress Class must match the Ingress Controller installed in your cluster. Check with your cluster admin for the available class names.
Step 3. Configure Rules
Click Add Rule to add a routing rule.
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Host | Domain name | app.example.com |
| Path | URL path | / |
| Path Type | Path matching mode | Prefix |
| Backend Service | Target Service name | my-app-svc |
| Backend Port | Service port | 80 |
Path Type Guide
| Path Type | Description |
|---|---|
Prefix | Matches if path starts with the specified value (e.g., /api also matches /api/v1) |
Exact | Matches only when the path is an exact match |
Step 4. Confirm creation
Click Create. Once an IP or domain appears in the Address column of the Ingresses list, the Service is accessible externally.
DNS propagation may take a few minutes. Point your domain's DNS to the Ingress Address to enable access.
