Container Quick Start
A step-by-step guide to creating a Kubernetes cluster and deploying your first workload in Aegis Container.
Prerequisites
- An Aegis account and a tenant must be ready
- External network and tenant network for cluster nodes must be configured
- The container image name to deploy must be ready
Open the Container App
Click the Container icon on the desktop.
The home screen displays the existing cluster list and the Create a Cluster panel on the right.
Create a Cluster
Click the Create Cluster button to open a creation form with three sections.
Basic Information
| Field | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Unique cluster name (required) | — |
| Kubernetes Version | Kubernetes version to apply | v1.34.0 |
| Container Network | CNI plugin for internal cluster traffic | Kube OVN |
| Tenant | Tenant to use cluster resources (required) | — |
| Description | Optional description | — |
Networking
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| External Network | External network for outbound access (required) |
| Tenant Network | Tenant network for connecting cluster nodes (required) |
| Subnet | Subnet for node IP assignment (required) |
Node Configuration
Divided into two groups: Control Planes and Worker Nodes.
| Field | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Node Type | Instance or Bare Metal | Instance |
| Image | OS image for nodes (required) | — |
| Flavor | vCPU/GPU spec selection (required) | — |
| etcd Disk | etcd data disk location | External (recommended) |
| Authentication | Key Pair or Password | Key Pair |
| Node Count (Control Plane) | Number of control plane nodes | 3 |
| Node Count (Worker) | Number of worker nodes | 0 |
After filling in all fields, review your configuration in the Summary panel on the right and click Create.
Cluster creation takes several minutes. You can monitor the status in the cluster list on the home screen.
View the Cluster Dashboard
Click the cluster name in the list to open the Dashboard page.
Information available on the Dashboard:
- Basic Information — Architecture, Kubernetes version, total resource count, creation time
- Capacity — CPU, memory, and Pod usage and reservation status
- Control Plane Components — Etcd, Scheduler, Controller Manager uptime
- Events — Cluster event list (most recent first)
Create a Namespace
Click Namespaces in the left sidebar.
- Click the Create Namespace button in the top-right corner
- Enter a namespace name (e.g.,
my-app) - Optionally enter a description and click Create
By default,
default,kube-system,kube-public, andkube-node-leasenamespaces are provided.
Create a Deployment (Deploy a Workload)
Go to Workloads → Deployments in the left sidebar.
- Click the Create Deployment button in the top-right corner
- Enter the application name and container image
- Select a namespace (use the namespace created in Step 4)
- Set resource requests (CPU/Memory)
- Click Create
Check Deployment Status
Verify the status of your Deployment in the Workloads → Deployments list.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | A green circle icon indicates the deployment is running normally |
| Ready | Running Pods / Total Pods (e.g., 1/1) |
| Up-to-date | Number of Pods updated to the latest version |
| Available | Number of Pods available for service |
In the Pods menu, you can access individual Pod logs and terminal.
