Create a Deployment
Deploy a containerized application using a Deployment.
Prerequisites
- Target Namespace exists.
- Container image URL or name is ready.
Step 1. Open the Create form
- In the left menu, select Workloads → Deployments.
- Click Create deployment in the top-right corner.
- Select Create as form from the dropdown. (Select Create from YAML to write YAML directly.)
Step 2. Configure the Deployment
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Deployment name (unique within the cluster) | my-app |
| Namespace | Target Namespace | default |
| Replicas | Number of Pod replicas to run | 2 |
Step 3. Configure the Container
Scroll to the Container section and set the image and resources.
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Container Name | Container identifier | app |
| Image | Container image | nginx:1.25 |
| Container Port | Port the container listens on | 80 |
| CPU Request / Limit | CPU resource bounds | 100m / 500m |
| Memory Request / Limit | Memory resource bounds | 128Mi / 256Mi |
TIP
Avoid using the latest tag (e.g. nginx:latest) as it can cause unexpected updates. Use a specific version (e.g. nginx:1.25.3).
Step 4. Create and verify
Click Create to create the Deployment.
Check the Deployment status in the list:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | All Pods are Running (healthy) |
| Processing | Rollout in progress |
| Error | Pod startup failed — check Events via the action menu |
INFO
The Ready column shows 2/2 when all replicas are running.
